Rev. Kathryn Johnson, senior pastor of Parkway United Methodist Church, is an ordained elder in the New England Annual Conference. She has served as the pastor of United Methodist Churches in West Roxbury and Roslindale, MA as well as in a number of justice ministry settings.
After receiving her Master of Divinity Degree from Boson University School of Theology Rev. Johnson served as a missionary in the Philippines through the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries and was involved in human rights work. This experience led to her appointment as the Executive Director of the Church Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines located in Washington, DC where Rev. Johnson has lived and worked for many years until her return to New England to serve as the Senior Pastor of Parkway UMC.
Additional ministry appointments in Washington, DC included twelve years as the Executive Director of the Methodist Federation for Social Action and working in positions related to justice in Israel/Palestine and reproductive justice for women and their families.
Rev. Johnson has a daughter currently attending Johnson State College in Johnson, Vermont.
